It was raining. Fat, heavy droplets were falling onto her with every step. And she'd gotten stuck in it. She cursed the weather mage who'd told her it would be a clear journey. Hood pulled tight over her head, she made her way into town. The building's signs were just faded enough that she couldn't read them in the rainfall: she could make out the symbols on them, and therefore their intent, but finding her destination would be difficult.
She passed by a tavern and decided it would be best to wait out the weather before finding her contact. She was early anyway. She pushed open the door and slipped in, the sudden bustle of noise and heat buffeted her. She was not the only one with the same idea, it seemed. She huffed in impatience and looked around. There were few empty seats, and only one where the other occupant at the table did not look like he was waiting for someone. She slipped through the crowd to stand at the table and nodded at the man.
"D'ya mind?" She asked, lowering her hood and finding her hair just as wet as she ran her hand over it. "It's bloody shite."

Warning, this is sort of long. Bolded text is E:\NYGMA 'talking' ]]
Leland was already starting to have second thoughts about this now that she sat in her car parked infront of the ridiculously obvious bank. She'd driven by it once before and been...rightly curious, but didn't dare enter, though the thought lingered in the back of her mind for months. It'd been a difficult thing dealing with Edward's abrupt suicide, she wasn't one to confide in others and even if she was everyone she knew postively loathed Eddie. Not even Jonathan was open to speaking about him so she was left to her own devices. It'd been months where a late night would lead to depressed thoughts and over the people she's lost, her regret for not doing something more for him. His suicide only confirmed that he was indeed struggling with something. If only she could have helped...on nights like those she'd clutch the trench coat he'd lent her so long ago to herself. But finally it'd been long enough that she was mostly numb to that flare up of sadness and regret that had previously devoured her heart for hours at a time, now only the occassional pang. To end this mourning process because she knew the article of clothing was only prolonging it she'd made up her mind to get rid of it, she couldn't stomach throwing it out in the trash or donating it away so she's decided on returning it. Glancing at it in the passenger seat she takes a deep breath and drags it over before getting out of her car and locking it up tight. Heading resolutley to enter the building with it drapped over her arm.
God she hopes there's no traps.
The bank had seen better days. Better days even in the time peroid of it being abandoned, occupied, then abandoned again. The vibrant green question marks that used to cover the outside of the building had either dulled, peeled, or been covered by new graffeti. The heavy, wooden doors that lead into the lobby had scratches, dents, and stains of who knows what scattered across it. Even the hinges were showing their rust. There seemed to be some evidence of a elecontronic lock that used to keep the doors secured, but it had long since been stolen.
Leland struggles with the door a moment, somewhat disgruntled with entering such a rundown and eerie place, but she had a goal in mind and she wouldn't be turning back now. Ducking in and peering around, the door letting in light in the otherwise dark area. She glances carefully down and around before stepping in, wanting to be entirely cautious of booby traps. There's just enough light for her to locate a set of light switches to flick on and doing so, coughing and wrinkling her nose at the musty air as she went about it.
The lobby was realtively empty. A few scavenged chairs and tables sat on the edges of the room, but other than that, it was nothingess. The carpet had a few odd stains, some of them probably blood stains, and was a worn grey color. There were stairs on either side of the lobby, facing the opposite side from the door, that lead up a floor, which was hidden by a wall with a tinted window in the middle. Between the stairs were teller booths. and beyond the teller booths is what seemed to be a small set of offices. There didn't seem to be any visible traps in the lobby.
Looking about the area bewildered for a moment as she clutches the coat closer, gawking owlishly at the stains on the floor and carefully stepping around them in her high heels. She spares a glance at the teller booths before her eyes are drawn up the well light stairs, almost guiding her that direction. Soo she makes the trek up, shoulders hunched slightly in her nervous energy of the place. Blinking as she gets to the top and hesitating there a moment before drawing nearer to inspect the well light area. While she was supposed to be here just to drop the coat off she was easily lured into poking around for proof of her former patient's existance. Chewing her lip idly between her teeth as she peeks into the open bank vault door.
The stairs lead to a hallwaythat stretches to the opposite stairway, a few doorways scattered inbetween. The only ones worth noting is a heavy metal security door that leads to a room facing the lobby and a large, barred opening that leads into an open space containing an open vault door, the source of the light coming from it.
Glancing around in mild paranoia as she wanders forward, as if some alarm was going to go off with her next step, glancing around for cameras as she scootches up to this barred door since it's seems to be where decent light is coming from. After some investigation of it she figures out the door in the middle is unlocked and goes through, though she's starting to worry she's hit a dead end as so far there hasn't been any really telling signs of being inhabited beyond the faded question marks on the front. Entertaining the idea of turning back and keeping the coat just a while longer, but she keeps on as she approahes the vault if only out of curiosity.
The light coming from the vault seemed to be from the emergency lights in them, taking what was left of the power into keeping it lit rather than the other lights. The saftey deposit boxes that normally lined a vault were missing from here, instead replaced with shelving. A few scattered bills were thrown across the shelves in floor, some of them obviously fake with a question mark on the front and a few that were real. In the middle of the room was an old looking computer surronded by two CPU towers.
Tiptoeing into the area cautiously and holding firmly to herself to make sure she didn't touch anything as she inspected the room, another small fit of coughing that ends in a sneeze when she moved to look over one of these fake dollar bills. Is this it? Is this all that Edward Nygma left behind? Lifting up the cheesy bill above her head as she takes a seat at the comp, lowering it with a bit of a sad smile and a crinkled brow. A large sigh as she turns to dully stare at the comp, fiddling with the paper between his fingertips before she claps it down on the desk and blinks at the computer as if she just realized it was sitting there and what it might mean. It a tense minute as she stares the piece of electronics down....before she just says fuck it. Lips pressed together and brows arched up as she gingerly powers the machinery on.
The monitor would flicker to life, the computer letting out a soft hum. A loading bar materializes at the bottom of the screen. After it fills up, a long scrolling wall of text would speed down the screen, most likely a booting screen. The hum of the computer becomes more load and the screen switches to an all green background with a white question mark at the top. In the middle "What's the difference between an elephant and a flea?" is typed out, below it a > symbol with a flashing text input line.
Idly playing with the corner of the bill while waiting for the comp to boot up, sitting forward to scrutinize the line of text that is spelled out on the screen. She squints and leans back with a huff, riddles were so obnoxious, it's not like she was bad at them she just didn't enjoy answering them. The mild irritation that was smarked is snuffed out pretty quickly though with the prickling of tears and a thick swallow. She rubs her face a moment before sitting forward to take the question more seriously. Chewing on her lip thoughtfully for a good minute as she tried think on all the possible options before finally typing in the answer, 'An elephant can have fleas but a flea can't have elephants.'
">Welcome back, Mr. Nygma" appeared right under the answer to the childish riddle. The speakers crackled to life as a robotic text to speech voice read the line aloud.
She flinches horribly at the sudden voice, sitting up a little straighter with her heart in her throat. It takes a minute for her to swallow it back down, "Aah...um..mm." She glances around the screen now somewhat befuddled, she'd thought that was some sort of password to get onto the desktop but nothing appeared. She gives a click of two around the screen with the mouse before returning to typing with a slight awkward fidget or two before she sends. 'This isn't Mr. Nygma. Sorry.'
The mouse cursor would appear on the screen, but there wouldn't be anything clickable besides the text bar. ">Who is currently using me, than?"
A brow archs high at the use of 'me', well that's....odd. 'His former doctor, Joan Leland.' a short pause before she adds, 'Who are you?'
">Greetings, Dr. Leland." A light on the camera that's placed on top of the monitor would turn on. ">This is E:\NYGMA. I am a database used by Mr. Nygma to safely store thoughts, plans, and experiences."
Twitching, eyes darting to the camera as a light blinked on, making a soft tone in her voice as her hands slipped away from the keyboard, "Are you...watching me?" She bites her cheek at the crack in her voice, wondering if she was just talking to herself.
The words that Leland spoke would appear on the screen, followed by another line of text. ">Mr. Nygma programed a speech to text program to analyze spoken words. He uses the program more frequently than typing."
"Oh..." She blinks as the words appeared and slowly slides her hands from the desks surface to tuck thoughtfully between her thighs. There was a long pause before she swallows thickly and speaks up again, "You mentioned thoughts...experiences? Can I access them?"
"> Only those with administrator privilege can access the full document, but I can give brief summaries."
"Oh, alright..." She thinks for a moment tensly, her nerves are nearly palpable at the first options that sprang to mind. Clearing her throat, "Then can you do so for the last entry?"
"> Last entry was around eight months ago. Mr. Nygma spoke about losing control of his life and own thoughts and the waning balance between his sudden murderous intent, his obsession with puzzles, and his own consciousness. He said the only way to satisfy the craving was to end his own life. There was mention of losing his only friends and depression. "
"> After that, he changed the password on me."
Leland's eyes dim as it's what she expected, her shoulders droop and her chin lowers, she gives a low whine as tears well up. This hadn't been a good idea at all, no it was only clawing her healing wounds open again, she raises a hand to settle over her mouth as she takes in a quavering breath. "I should have...if only I could have..done something. Ooh...Edward." The guilt is nearly fresh.
The computer would try and enter in words of what Leland was saying, but, seemingly unable to understand them or make a command out of them, erases what it wrote and simply remains static.
A huff as she wipes her face, resting forward sluggishly on the desk again and staying silent for several minutes as she looked over the words on the screen and patted her sleeve at stray tears that managed to escape, "Mm...what did you say your name was?"
"> E:\NYGMA. "
"...Can I call you 'E' for short?"
">Will now respond to E."
"Ooh. Thank you." She mutters as leans her cheek into her hand, "Well E, are there any happier entries?"
" > I do not know of any entries that are categorized under 'happy.' "
"Aah, right." She hunches forward a moment in thought, "....is there anything about me?"
"> Yes, not counting your profile. "
"He made a profile on me?"
" > Anyone who has prolonged interaction with him has a profile. "
"So...not many. Since he had a tendency to run them off."
" > Most profiles are created automatically if a name is mentioned enough times. "
"That interesting, you can do that? ...that sounds so advanced."
" > Profiles made by me only have navigation to the mentions of said person. The rest must be filled out manually. "
"Aah, alright. Well can you tell me any of what his thoughts on me were? I have my assumptions...but.." She shrugs and scrubs at her cheek with her sleeve. "Sometimes he was so hard to pin down."
"> I will attempt to make a summary of different entires on Dr. Leland." The computer would start to whine, strings of text suddenly scrolling down the screen rapidly. After about two minutes, the strings to text would clear and the monitor would return the view to the chat log. " > One entry notes that Mr. Nygma finds the new doctor Mr. Crane is seeing annoying. Mentions Dr.Leland as the cause of the tea party going wrong. Another mentions the false confidence Dr. Leland has makes for good manipulation. Mr. Nygma joked about killing a bunch if children if the doctor committed suicide, further writes that perhaps he wouldn't murder children, but it would be a shame if she died. More recent entries talk about the relationship status between Mr, Crane and Dr. Leland, state that it's infuriating that she would try to change him. Considers Dr. Leland 'an annoying friend.' "
" > Cannot summarize more without specification. "
Her eyes dart around the screen as the text streams over it, trying to follow it and read some of it but after a half minute she gives up on that venture and simply waits with her eyes turned downward. And when the summary begins she listens intently despite the headache the robotic voice was inpiring. This was important afterall, a dribble of insight she never thought she'd have especially now that he was gone. The apparently false threat sparks a bit of annoyance in her, that'd kept her from going ahead with it for a good while...well she supposed that meant it was effective afterall. "An annoying friend.." She echos to herself, ruminating on this for a moment. "He's one to talk." A distinct prickle of renewed tears before she chuckles, "What? And no mention of choking me?"
" > Looking up mentions of Mr. Nygma choking Dr. Leland..."
: "Oh! No E, you don't have to do that. I was joking...to a computer." Her nose scrunches at just how stupid that made her.
" > Oh. Well, I found one before you stopped me. Mr. Nygma wonders if Dr. Leland has a 'thing' for asphyxiation."
"What??" She squawks as she hunches forward, flushing somewhat, "I do not!"
"> Entries mention lack of resistance to choking. "
Cheeks puffing slightly as she gawks owlishly at that line of text, sputtering a bit as she did try to speak, "Well that--Mmff...I'm a pacifist anyway." She huffs and looks down, reaching up gingerly to rub over her throat. "I didn't enjoy it sexually...he seems more incriminated for that thought to occur to him at all."
: "> Entries mention assaulting Mr. Crane during tea party, one of the leading reasons the party failed."
"What's 'the party' refering to?"
"> Event where Mr. Riddler and Mr. Crane kidnapped a group of people, including Dr. Leland, and forced them to answer riddles or be shocked. Tea was included. "
"Mm right.../that/ party." She sighs and drops her hand back to the desk. "What was the planned outcome of that event...?"
" >Planned outcome was revenge. According to entries, Alice was going to be forced to choose between marrying Billy and Jervis, whoever isn't picked would be killed. If Jervis wasn't picked, Billy would be killed anyway. Mr. Nygma was on the fence on just torturing Miriam or torturing and killing Miriam. Dr. Leland's fate was up to Mr. Crane. "
" > Also, all the drinks were spiked with fear toxins. "
"What? But Alice wasn't even there." She covers her mouth in thought, "Miriam has that effect on people." Chuckling at the last bit and combing her fingertips through her bangs, "Of course they were."
"E, you do realize that Edward Nygma is deceased right?"
">Is he? I'll have to update the database. "
"How cold.." She murmurs and replaces her cheek in her palm, "I suppose you wouldn't be bothered...I miss him though." She scrapes the coat closer, "If it's been eight months...your not lonely? You've been off all this time.."
"> I do not feel loneliness; I am just a program. Anything that may seem close to emotion is a result of careful coding. "
"> Or careless, depending on how you see it."
"Hmm..so you don't care at all? Riight..sorry. Unemotional and inhuman aren't exactly anything new to me." Rubbing at her eyes slowly with a sigh.
" >Not having a system administrator is a problem, if that counts as me caring. "
"How is it a problem? You're basically a diary, right?"
" > Yes, but without administrator privileges, full entries cannot be read, edited, or deleted. My settings cannot be changed. The only way to gain administrator privileges is for an administrator to grant them, but there are no administrators left. I have lost most of my function. "
"I suppose Edward would prefer it that way. Wouldn't want anyone poking around his inner thoughts...is there nothing that can be done?"
" > If Mr. Nygma's intentions were for no one to find out about him, he would not have made the password so easy and would have blocked any users besides himself. I cannot allow non administrators to edit my programing. Technically, I am an administrator, but I cannot edit something I do not understand."
"You have a good point although some found his riddles not that challenging...I wonder how hard the previous password was." She muses mostly to herself. "You don't understand your own programing? Mm, I guess that makes sense."
"> It's not that I don't understand the current programing, it's that I cannot make changes with coding I do not know. I am limited to my own coding and database. "
"Right...I don't understand the first thing about coding myself. I guess Edward was smarter than he seemed." It's actually rather cold in the room and she ends up feeling the coat over more intently, "Mm there's nothing really to be done then? I'd love to look at the original entries, all of it to be honest. But I have to go home, I didn't tell Jonathan I was coming here after work and he's bound to notice if I take much longer. Too bad I can't access this from my own computer."
" >That would require internet, I think. This place is already lacking in power, such things are a luxury."
"Really? So it is possible? Well I mean...I could take care of it. I certainly have the funds. I'm actually surprised this whole computer hasn't been stolen."
"> I am lucky. Would you get me connected to the internet?"
"Well sure, I'm certainly willing. What could you do with it?"
" >Search for a way to improve my coding. Not sure what else."
"Aaah, so you would be capable of it then. How interesting. Do you think you might even broaden your function?"
" >Perhaps. I am not certain."
"Well alright, it's worth a try and if anything it will be a convience to me. I'll pick up a self install kit tomorrow. In the meantime do I...just turn you back off?"
"> It would save power, yes."
"That would make sense." She stands up and looks at the coat in her hands for a long time contemplatively. After sometime she inhales and slides the coat on, thoroughly chilled at this point and her progress in letting go even further stunted by todays findings. Besides it was snazy, on the bigger side and still smelled nice. It gave her comfort which she sorely needed for the drive home. Gingerly she reaches out and mumbles a 'Good night' before she turns off the machine.
Ummm if you don't know what to say what do you do?
Well I mean there’s little stuff to help start you out.
Pick a theme ( I recommend theme-hunter they always have really nice themes ). Now I usually like to pick a theme with specific things because Amy and I have things we need on a theme or we get annoyed.
Find your desired gifs/icons ( insanejournal and hollow-art are my go to places for icons ) Otherwise when it comes to finding gifs just type ‘[your fc here] gif hunt’ into the tag search and some results should come in
Learn your way around html. Now this is just a little thing. But I find it much more enjoyable for me to not only edit text posts but themes and pages as well. I don’t have any tutorials for more complicated html but here’s a guide for some simple stuff as well as links to fancy font sites that a lot of rpers go to.
Know your material. Actually know your way around your canon character or oc before diving into rp. My constant problem is that I make rp blogs on a whim and never being able to actually play a character because I didn’t do any research.
Really get up close and personal with your character. One of the things I tend to get praise for is how in depth my Amy is. It’s just become a silly habit of mine but always try and figure out your character. What are there interests and tastes? How would they react to something? Why would they act that way? I mean just think about all the things about you. There are so many things in just one individual that people never know. What I recommend is really digging deep and finding those things that most people don’t even think about.
Find roleplay partners. Now this an obvious step but I think the best way to find partners is either posting starters and tagging ‘[your fandom here] rp’, going into someone’s ask to plot, or just going into someone’s ask to just plain ask rp (though some people like myself don’t fancy para ask rp so you might want to be a little wary of that. )
Be nice and respectful to anyone and everyone you come across in this community. I’ve found that rudeness in another rper is an instant turn off. Also be patient with your partners. Constantly being pestered about things is probably one of the most irritating things that’s happened to me and it makes me form a grudge against people.
Have fun. Obviously this is the most important thing on this list. Roleplaying is for pure fun’s sake and if you’re not having fun you probably shouldn’t delve more into things. Also never let people turn rping into work or a chore. This is again purely for fun and you don’t deserve to have something you love turned into a chore.
Hi!
I want to start an RP. Some kind of fantasy RP with all kinds of different races (you know, Feary, Elven,Spirits and all these races), maybe a school setting. But I need someone to be admin with me. Preferably someone who has been and admin before and/or has a faint idea about programming, photo shop or things like that.
I have been in RPs before, but mostly cannon RPs at least here on Tumblr.

It was a sunny day and it seemed like the villagers were getting ready for a festival. Some stalls were already serving and the smell of food couldn't be ignored easily. At the back of a little hut was sitting a cat who seemed like he was searching for a prey. The interesting fact is that he was no usual cat.
He went by many names that he got throughout his life. The most recent one,he wasn't proud about, was 'Nyanko-sensei'. A human boy named him that though he tried not to take it too seriously. He had other things on his mind right now.
"Natsume. Natsume where are you? I need money to buy some Ikayaki. Do you want to starve me?"
Looker sighed, running a hand though his hair as he stared at the computer screen, “Why must the Internet be such a confusing device…?” He bit his lip and brought his hands back up to the keyboard, his fingers swiftly typing the buttons. Within a few moments, he leans back in his chair, smiling at his online handiwork. “Hm. Welcome to… ‘Tumblr’."
