For anyone wondering what happened to my ant colony, they got sick and died shortly after my previous post. I didn’t know to feed them organic apples, so I suspect the trace amount of pesticides in in the apples killed them.

The Queen tends to the larvae. Soon the colony will grow!
My ant colony mainly lives in this corner. They treat the rest of the nest like a foraging area.
I just got an ant colony of the genus Formica subsericia from Tar Heel Ants. There are about 5 workers. Pictured here is the queen and 3 workers in a Mini Hearth XL, also from Tar Heel Ants.
