EVA PSA
When operating outside the station keep these things in mind:
1.Inform your segments Manager of an EVA well ahead of time. They will need to check operation schedules so as to not cause hazards for you or the station.
2. Be sure your wearing an up to code EVA suit, partial pressure suit are to be used in emergency only. Have you suit inspected and stickered once a month.
3. Be sure of the location of the exterior hatch. Do not raise your visor down till you are 2 minutes into the night period, keep in mind the orbital period and when to close your visor.
4.Color coding is for your benefit. On artificial gravity segments, catwalk access will be marked with an orange border. Exterior labs are marked green. Emergency hatches are red, with a yellow cross when there is deployable lifepods.
5. Never fly untethered alone, always have spotter in case of an emergency. Be sure to remember all hand signals and radio codes.
6.In the event of a Lockdown while you are outside of the station, keep tuned to the emergency channel and stay close to an Emergency hatch. Follow all instruction given. In the case of an extended Lockdown, use the direct air hook-ups located near the Emergency hatch.
By following proper procedure you can guarantee a safe Exterior Operation for you and the Station.
