Statues Quo is a co-operative multiplayer game exploring the resistance to pulling down colonial monuments. Players work together to bring down the New Zealand Wars memorial, while being exposed to various points of view about the monument.

Every YouTube video I posted to document progress on “Statues Quo” - 09/11/2020

Here’s a list of youtube videos that act as documentation for this semester’s project. I didn’t really use Tumblr this year.

This demonstrates the first iteration of pulling a statue down and having it break as it hits the ground. The rubble of the statue is rather abnormal yet it reminded me of bowling pins, so I added some ambient sound and a sound effect when the statue falls and breaks.

This is the first iteration on what was going to become Statues Quo, with multiple, randomly chosen scenes. The statue is still a plain model, but it has more realistic looking rubble. At first, Statues Quo only had one side where participant could pull from, compared to the two sides in the final installation.
