Accented by the twirl of her own hair around her finger, delicate and deceptively innocent. A ploy to get the Hitman alone or to further embarrass the WWE talent, potential for misunderstanding was hidden beneath the motives that Chelsea refused to say. Hidden beneath charisma and confidence, Bret had been warned that she was never up to any good. Focused on her own goals, her own ambitions, the difference between a hero and a villain was clearly defined by she. A glimpse from a past that he'd rather never remember; the times of Bret's life that were so troubled, so overcome by pridefulness and vanity. With the Anvil on one side and the Mouth of the South on the other, when the Hitman was blinded by the attention, the glamour, the fabulousness that was found in being so rottenly spoiled. He had lost his way. Before the gray clouds left, he had lost himself, too. Never wanted to return to that person, could still recall with fondness the feeling of being free, of knowing that the Rougeau's would be stuck with Jimmy in the end, the bloodsucker, the scum, perhaps wanted to save Chelsea before it was too late. She couldn't have always been so bad.

Not willing to fall within the trap of schoolyard antics, Bret rolled his eyes at her defense but did no more. Kept his posture straight, his shoulders back, appeared as relaxed as always.

"That was uncalled for and you know it."

Bret remarked, the line of his sight centered on Chelsea, the possibility of a knife held behind her back. "If you wanted me, all you had to do was come over here and talk to me, y'know. No reason to be rude. And to be honest, I don't appreciate it, Chelsea. If you want respect, you have to earn it. You don't belittle other people for it. You don't say things to get them to leave."

Emotionally Charged Sentence Starters.

Dramatic, delusional, emotional instability that came packaged with a pretty face, the words to Chelsea poured from Bret's lips before he even had the chance to regard her fully. Dressed in white street clothes - sparkles and shimmer - the perfect contrast to black leather that graced the Hitman. A casual blue jeans and boots, from the backstage area where it mattered not creed nor background. Generational divides unimportant, what was said spoken aloud with less of an intent to insult and more so an attempt at encouragement, to teach. Bret had seen from his television at home the match that troubled Chelsea most. A title on the line, tears and sweat devoted to the battle, an interference by Kiana able to ruin it all. A diva of the highest order, despite her attitude, her affection for chaos and theatrics, it was common knowledge that Chelsea was talented. A great wrestler, a great athlete, the chance to visit the talent was wholly taken by Bret, as always was. Bret couldn't stay away. No matter the years, no matter the miles, he always found himself within the WWE's orbit, its backstage, its locker room, its venue for the night.

Features unaffected, though the boisterous outburst did make him pause, sudden but not completely unexpected, Bret merely pressed his mouth into a fine, thoughtful line. Waited until Chelsea was finished, his brown eyes attuned to her, watchful, hands curled around either point of his hip bones, a proud stance. Looking around as to not disturb anyone else, any poor soul who dared to wander, wisdom was commenced.

"Because it's the truth and you needed to hear it." Bret answered honestly, akin to a father who couldn't stand to see his child repeat the same mistakes again.

"Y'know, Chelsea, you're never gonna regain the Women's United States Championship with this attitude of yours. You've got all the technical skill, but it isn't gonna amount to anything as long as you keep holding yourself back. As long as you keep getting inside your own head and thinking about yourself. That selfishness, that ego, is gonna be the thing that stops you. You'll never really win."
