          “nothing lasts forever.” he’s learning that more & more, especially of late. it’s funny, isn’t it? it should have been burned into him from the start, from the time he was an infant & his family had been ripped away from him. everything dies. he hadn’t really UNDERSTOOD, not until cedric. & now, sirius. gone. the plans they’d made, the future he’d hoped for -- a family -- all of it’s gone now. he sighs. “sorry,” he says, because it feels wrong to drop all of this onto her. his voice, even to his own ears, sounds small. “just... sorry.”
