hearing the news that hadley was back in town, he figured it was the perfect opportunity to try and fix whatever weird state they were in. the last conversation the pair had before christmas had him feeling uneasy--since they made amends earlier this year, having a little spat like they did ( is that what they’re calling it ? ) inspired gabe to fix whatever happened. if that meant forgetting about their kiss back in the hospital, then so be it. with a bottle of tequila in his hands, he knocked on her front door as if he was about to go into a battle that he’s unsure of the outcome on. however, when she revealed herself on the other side, he shrunk slightly away from the determined, focused demeanor into a bashful one immediately. “uh, hey” he greeted lamely, a sheepish smile on his lips as he held up the bottle, “welcome home ?”

after the doctors took ryder back to finish his stitches, mari left him to go and search for hadley/pound the nurses for information on where she was. it took a lot of yelling, explaining and demanding until the doctor finally told mariana what was going on with the blonde, that she had just gotten out of a serious surgery and wasn’t going to be awake for the next couple hours. she hadn’t really had the chance to even process what was going on, but the amount of times she had been in this hospital the last couple months forced her to be much more calm than she should be. mariana waited in the corner of hadley’s room in the icu for those next couple hours, while she left ryder alone with her father so he could finish getting her stitches and she could avoid her dad by being here waiting for the blonde to awaken. the brunette noticed hadley starting to wake up and immediately hopped out of her chair and out the sliding door to grab the doctors. it took them a bit of time to take the tubes out so she could breathe and get her comfortable and settled, but once they did mari approached the girl laying in the bed, arms crossed over her chest. “hey, babe. how you feeling?” she asked, voice soft.

it had been a long time since hadley and mariana had some much needed girl time, so mari decided to invite the blonde into her studio to catch up and maybe work on some tracks. ‘ hey, i missed you, ’ she smiled, greeting the other girl with a hug. the two of them had been friends for a long time, despite the rumors the tabloids continued to cook up between them- saying they hated each other, or they were always feuding. sometimes it could be funny but other times it just pissed mariana off. she didn’t care if people talked about her, but when they said shit about her friends, it bothered her. ‘ okay, so... you need to tell me literally everything. i feel like i’ve missed so much ! ’ she asked, sitting back down in the chair.
