Elia had been interviewing interns all day. Normally, she would have assigned the task to Emily. Emily, however, was hopeless. She constantly sent her the same kind of girls – nice, pretty, and airheaded.Elia didn’t want those kinds of girls. She wanted someone who was hungry for the job and wanted to learn how magazines worked.
She hadn’t met such a person today. Most of the girls that came through her office weren’t really interested in the job. They were interested in Elia. They were so star struck when they were escorted into the old woman’s presence that they could barely speak and one of them looked like she was on the verge of losing her breakfast.
She glanced at the resume of the next girl. Sansa Stark. The girl had gone to a good college and studied journalist. That was good. She had good organizational skills. That was even better. Her references were all over the place, but that was all right. Most people out of college didn’t have that many professional references.
She smoothed the resume on the desk and dialed Emily. “Will you bring Sansa Stark in, please?” she said and hung up the phone.
