Since I claimed victory over the new Stimpacks chapter today, I thought I'd switch gears for you and share some of the Mass Effect AU! I haven't worked on it in a while, and the beginning is getting a rewrite, but to put this particular scene on the timeline, it's during the events of 3. They were at a major planet, and Em...well, she's Em.
Mac scrambled to catch his wife as she literally fell out of the shuttle, limp, bleeding from her nose, and out of energy. Shepard cursed as he jumped down to help as her eyes fluttered closed.
"What the hell happened down there?!" Mac demanded. "I heard a good portion of the radio, so don't even bother lying to me!"
"Don't yell at me! I'm not the one who disobeyed orders to stay!" Shepard shot back. "I told her to go, and she wouldn't listen!"
"She was probably trying to protect you as you did something completely fucking crazy!" Mac yelled. "Like you always do!"
"Someone has to get the job done, Mac!"
"It doesn't have to be you all the time!"
They're all friends, I promise. But Mac.. well he's Mac. Haha. And gets pretty protective over Em, and immediately concerned when she overuses her biotics. So he's gonna yell at everyone cause he's scared. He is a squadmate to take along during 3.
A little bit here before I go is that if Shepard takes the couple along on a mission, there is almost constant banter. Trash talking during a fight, arguing over who stole who's kill, that kind of thing. Don't worry. Dunc loves to hang out with Joker and do a flight sim so he's not feeling like someone is babysitting him.
