Fablewood Academy's Transportation System
Fablewood Academy spans an immense landscape, from towering castle spires to deep enchanted forests, sprawling gardens, and shimmering lakes. To ensure students can traverse the grounds with ease, the school has developed various modes of transportation, blending magic and innovation.
The Luminaris
The Luminaris is a floating, rail-less tram system designed to carry students swiftly across campus. Powered by enchanted crystals, the Luminaris glides effortlessly above the ground, following invisible pathways mapped by ancient magic. Each tram is sleek and elegant, with softly glowing sigils along its body that shift colors depending on the time of day. The interiors are comfortable, lined with plush seats and softly glowing lanterns that adjust brightness based on the rider’s needs. (don't laught I hate drawing vehicles T_T)
To summon a Luminaris, students simply need to activate a Stellanode—a floating, enchanted crystal positioned at key locations around the school.
The Stellanodes
These ethereal Stellanodes serve as both waypoints and summoning devices. Suspended in the air a few feet above the ground, each one hums faintly with stored magic. A gentle tap or a spoken destination command activates the crystal, sending a signal to the nearest available Luminaris tram.
Each Stellanode is attuned to the academy’s grand leyline network, ensuring instant communication between waypoints. Their color shifts depending on status: Blue: Ready to summon a tram Gold: A tram is on its way Red: Temporarily inactive for maintenance
Alternative Travel Methods
For students who prefer alternative ways of traveling the vast campus, Fablewood Academy offers various magical and traditional options:
The Glyph Gates – At specific points around the school, intricately carved archways hold Teleportation Glyphs that allow students to step through and instantly arrive at another marked location. These gates require students to possess an enchanted key-card known as a Pass Sigil to prevent unauthorized use.
Skyborn Steeds – A unique fleet of magical creatures, including pegasus, gryphons, and windrunners (wolf-like creatures that glide on air currents), are available at the academy’s Stables. Students who earn their riding licence (facultatively possible to attend to riding classes on the week-end even if not in the horse-riding club) can use them for quick travel.
Aether Gondolas – For those loving water they can travel on the academy’s many lakes and rivers, where enchanted gondolas float above the water’s surface, gliding at a steady pace with no effort from the rider.
