Socks stands there a moment, processing what's been said, it's always a struggle to pay attention to what people were saying on the job. Well, 95% of the time anyway. Off work... who knows, it's not like they have anyone to talk to. At most, they're talked *at*.
They don't really know why, and had hazarded a guess that it was because they want it to be over. But who knew? There was a lot that was wrong with them that nobody had bothered to address outside arguments and fights.
A lot they dismissed as normal inconvenience. Surely it was common.
But that was neither here nor there, they note his claws. Sharp, too close to their hands. But the same can be said for their's and his hands. Their own are painted blue and black Simple half-and-half, they hadn't had the energy for more. Decorated weapons that wouldn't hesitate to use if need be.
In answer, they shake their head a few times and say,
"No, far a'th I'm aware, the box will be inviolable. Hm... how about thi'th? I will remain nearby to help dimini'th'h your fear of bomb'th or expol'th'ives or whatever. I do know that there are three thing'th in there, and you.... definitely need them."
Too many damn 'S's in that whole damn statement. They needed one of those machines that let people put words in and it would talk for them. A marvel they never could remember the name of, they'd seen it in a few dimensions. Ah well, focus, focus. Focus...
They don't push more, letting him take that in and decide what to do. Honestly, even if he decides to keep it closed or try to hand it back, it would find its way back to him. Fate was an inexorable thing....the bastard. One way or another that box would be opened by this stranger, and Then *after* that occured, he had some choices. Accept the items, or tempt Fate and do an endless variety of things with them. Though it never seemed that serious to most unless they were told. And convinced. And explained to. [Ugh]
Otherwise, It was just refusing weird junk.
Hopefully, they wouldn't have to stay and watch this go on. But because there's been no automatic portal back home, and they're getting the nagging feeling that they're going to be /blocked/ should they make their own or use the magick chalk. Basically that the magick chalk would make a door....but lead nowhere but back here. And that feeling isn't often wrong about Fate's and Kiki's bullshit. Universe kill them now.
