Stella's Heart Stella Grace is 8 months old today! I can't believe how fast that happened. She is doing very well Heart wise. We have been working very hard on helping her meet her milestones. She had a GI appointment yesterday and weighs 14 pounds. She is 25 inches long. The GI would like to see her catch up weight wise. We are going to increase her calorie intake and try to help her meet his goal for her which is 2 pounds in a month. I realize that is pretty unrealistic but we will do everything in our power to avoid any tubes. If she doesn't gain enough over the next month then he wants us to try a NJ tube. It goes through the nose straight in the jejunum. That would run continuous through the night to help her get extra calories overnight. Then if that didn't work after 1-3 months we would talk about a G-Tube or a GJ-Tube. We see neurology on Thursday. We have early step occupational therapy in our home every Wednesday. We see physical therapists once a month and have had Stella fitted for bidirectional hand splints on both hands to help keep her thumb opposed instead of in a fist. We will be going to Houston to see genetics on June 22nd. Cardiology on the 26th and endocrinology on June 28th. We follow up with ophthalmology on July 17th to see if our patching the right eye for two hours everyday is helping her strabismus. I know this update seems overwhelming and to be honest it is, but I am grateful she is home with us every single day. She LOVES going to church and going to the grocery store. She is always happy and smiling as long as she can see her mama. She has developed a separation anxiety and freaks out if I'm not right there. Please continue to pray for us through these upcoming appointments. Thank you for following our story. #StellasHeart
