It had been so long that Atieno almost had to blink a few times just to make sure that they were certain that they were hanging out with Kar again. Indeed, it had felt like ages - but they were certainly glad to actually talk with her again over some coffee.

"Yeah, you're telling me ... but I believe you that it's been a lot. There's always so, so much going on that it's a wonder anyone sees anybody at times. But that prevention of colony collapse and dealing with rifts and space time.. yeah, I get how that would be incredibly time consuming. "

If anything, Atieno figured that Kar would likely be so so busy with those kinds of situations.

The notion of poking at their void brain inspired a small laugh, and a raised eyebrow.

"Well, I'm listening and I'm certainly willing to share what I know about such situations... chances are I should be able to be helpful in some capacity here."

Being lost in his own thoughts was what had led them to this predicament: a rusted Runner completely flipped over into the thick swamp of Aegrus slowly sinking into the mud. Common sense told him to leave well enough alone and cut his losses. The stubborn streak in him couldn't allow his favourite sniper rifle to be claimed by the swamp.

Thick bubbles rose to the surface seconds before the sniper followed, sludging his way to shore with the rifle in one hand, and a leather knapsack in the other.

"I think ya lost this..." He tossed the soaked thing to her feet before coughing up a lungful of mud.

eyes hidden behind a mask followed the glowing object turn back into a cube. the hum reminded them a little of the objects they once had on Nekrotafeyo. a pang of something akin to homesickness shot through them but was quickly dismissed. when they felt homesick, the often led to memories of before they gained sentience. "Nothing in particular. A fleeting moment, I thought I would pass by" perhaps this was how their bond had developed. the watcher sometimes found themselves longing for Kar's company. "What is it you were working on? It reminds me of my home."

    The loudness wasn't on purpose, but it echoed across the halls when the excitement really began to have a slight reverb. Krieg wasn't the type to stay quiet. Like a dog, he had to shake off the energy before it'd eat him alive in the worst way (by more and more screaming).

    "TO DIG INTO THE SANDS OF FIRE AND BASK IN THE RAIN!" A vacation sounds really nice right now. "AND I'LL BAKE MYSELF INTO IT!

    "We need to DROWN IN IT!" He knows a place, surprisingly.

Kar sighed. A shame. She shook her head as she poured a liquid from a decanter into a glass. "Pity, I had hoped for better news." Taking a deep breath and exhaling, before drinking the bitter liquor. Ryncol wasn't exactly made for humans, but Kar wasn't human. "Thank you for the assistance regardless." Perhaps one of her agents would have proved more successful. "Do you drink?" she asked, gesturing to the crystal decanter.

The Doctor sighs. They had hoped to bring some good news to her. But though they'd tried their hardest, they couldn't find what they had been searching for. "I had hoped to bring better news." They watch as the other person drinks. The Doctor had never been much of a drinker, always busy with other things. But they do have the odd sip now and then. And though they've traveled time and space for so long, they don't believe they've encountered this particular drink. Then again, they don't spend much time in space bars.

When she thanks the Doctor for their help, they wave a hand as if to say 'don't worry.' "No problem. I'm happy to help. That's what I do, helping." Indeed, the Doctor likes to help others. They feel it's their purpose in life. When she asks them if they drink, they shrug. "Every now and then. Though I must admit, I've never seen your one before." They briefly wonder what it would taste like. But they also worry it'd be rude to ask for a sip. So they simply say: "What kind of drink is that? And where's it from?" It must be somewhere the Doctor's never been. Or perhaps they just don't pay attention to the alcohol offered in various places. Always too busy with other things.

Kar was anything but panicked. Amused, as one might expect from a pyromaniac, but not outright glee. An idea to offer to simply grab skewers and cook from the flames was kept to herself.

“Told you you had it on for too long.” she deadpanned, disappointment filling her at having to get the extinguisher from the cupboard…

Kar might not have been panicked, but Etain certainly was. As soon as the extinguisher was in Kar’s hand, Etain grabbed it, letting go of her faltering attempts to use the Force to smother the air from the fire. 

The flames shot briefly higher, then were doused in a blueish foam until nothing remained except a charred dish and wisps of smelly grey smoke.

“Yes, well,” Etain gritted out, “thank you for your input. Kriff.”

She wiped at her face, as if to clear some of the smoke from her eyes, then shook her head. “This will be fun to explain. “Blackened” nuna is right.”

      ❛❛ This is getting to be pretty freakin’ E X H A U S T I N G , ❜❜       The doppelganger sighed loudly, pinching the bridge of his     nose as he tried to keep himself from throwing whatever     was closest to him across the room.  

      Granted, it wouldn’t have been a very strong throw.  

      And he would have I M M E D I A T E L Y gone to go retrieve it,     examine it for any damages, and put it back in its rightful     place as if it had never been touched at all.  

      He looked to his venting partner for the time being, thankful     that he at least had someone to talk with who could absolutely     understand his frustrations.

Meeting new faces closed

After seeing what the corporation war between Atlas and Maliwan has done to Promethea and her people Amara vowed to do anything in her power to help those affected by this tragedy in any way she could. One of those ways was by trying to be steps ahead the Calypso twins and their COV.

A bit after meeting the Atlas corporation and joining their side Amara was given a mission by Lillith herself to talk to the person that allegedly knew where the Promethean vault key fragment was located and the vault itself.

After asking Lorelei where she could find this person the siren head out in the marked location on her echo map a bit worried at how ‘sane’ this person would be. Amara knew that learning about Eridians is tricky stuff and she heard lots of people that have gone insane with the topic. But the siren had faith in Lillith’s and Lorelei’s description of the person and hoped that the person could join the fight.

Upon arriving at the destination she saw that she wasn’t the only one looking for this person. It appears Maliwan has taken an interest in the rumors as well but as it look like not that much interest since the squadron that were there were very low ranking soldiers.

Amara took cover from a distance and waited to see what were the squadrons orders and reason to be here.
