(Creature concept and design by @n0rtist as part of the STEMA project. If you're fascinated by science and cute monsters, I highly recommend checking it out!)
I’m a huge fan of Fakemon projects, especially @n0rtist’s stema region! It’s such a unique concept and I can’t wait for the final game. I love the designs, especially the Slugant line, so I made some art.
Musculmus being able to run either Fur Coat or Huge Power is very interesting to me. It could either be a very all-around bulky tanker or a specially-bulky physical attacker, which you won't be able to tell until it clicks a move.
Accelift is terrifying.
Molra being a wall with a signature ability that resets stat boosts gives it an interesting place. If Tare can hit Aero types, Molra would be solid at keeping Accelift in check.
Oh god Needlish is a Hydro/Metala minmaxed speedy physical attacker with Technician
Bunge's game plan is switch into a strong attack -> activate Hydrothermal -> Strike back -> hope the target dies. If this thing gets healing moves, it could be pretty good.
Thanks to Rock and Ground being consolidated into Geo, Metamolder seems bound to be our Bulky Ground Type, with the added boon of Solid Rock's protection against super effective hits. Sedislab WOULD be useful as a Sandstorm setter... but sandstorm was removed, so that ability is inevitably being replaced.
Monbogo actually has really high attack for LC, could definitely see use. Atelgo has nothing to write home about though currently.
Millimit being an LC-legal Magic Bounce user is all you need to know. Intengal is put at quite a disadvantage by having the lowest speed of any fully-evolved Stema we've seen, but it could make it work. A bulkier Magic Bounce choice than Holorror, for what that's worth.
Photora is the only one I deem genuinely impossible to judge, since its gimmick relies on mechanics that have yet to be revealed. Cadar is in a similar boat, since Doppler Effect has been left unexplained.
Tuniduct hits HARD, with great physical defense and burn on contact, on top of being Thermo/Metala, which I believe I remember being a great type combo. Tunivect seems less strong, but Water Absorb is always nice.
Vantawurm is Gliscor 2: Probably Not As Annoying But Still.
Impervious as it's described seems prime for lockout potential, but beyond that, Nautigrade just seems to be Shuckle and thus not viable.
Scrupion has Mold Breaker and much better physical stats than Gianaut (as well as not coming at the opportunity cost of Drought), which combines with great typing to give it an edge in spite of average stats.
Drachoron is going to be very reliant on ability to impress me, since that stat spread just seems par.
Deposition feels like it could be useful, probably quite niche but there are times it could be used.
Lagomight-Fight having Intimidate is a big deal with all the nasty physical attackers running around. Lagomight-Fright is not a big deal.
Gianaut is VERY bulky and is bound to be a premier sun setter due to that and Drought. Solid special attack means it could also be used as a sun recipient with Solar Power, or even a special alternative to Scrupion with Mold Breaker. Quite a versatile one here.
Slothsom is far too gimmicky for me to properly judge, may be able to do some funky stuff though.
Gelero's complete fire immunity and speed reduction with Thermal Insulator definitely has its place.
Originally I was scared of Holorror for its unique typing and high special stats, but after getting a deeper understanding of things, Holorror's real threat factor comes from being a tricky little [expletive] thanks to Magic Bounce or Prankster, with surprisingly solid physical bulk to set it apart from more minmaxed special attackers if you want to use it that way instead.
Dropert actually seems quite good for a gimmick mon, as its ability combined with its typing makes it... well, resilient, with competent offenses and speed to offset its terrible HP too. There's ways around the ability naturally, but still more viable than I expected from the gimmick mon video.
Procion has Volt Absorb. In summary, every Stema with an immunity ability is worth keeping an eye on.
The mascot legendaries are not going to be legal in most formats. Obviously.
Stemotl's stats are written really high for an LC mon. Not sure if that was intentional or not.
I believe Neurotl has the single highest special attack we've seen, which combines with incredible speed and Lightning Rod to create a premier special sweeper. Myotl's slightly better bulk, equally impressive physical stats, and access to great offensive abilities in Guts and Moxie make it possibly an even better sweeper.
Huge Power Adipotl as its visualized would have the single highest physical attack of any known Stema. While also being one of the bulkiest Stema we know. Definitely won't be what it looks like for that reason.
Behavian-Punish is another Intimidate user, which is likely the main ability it'll use. Punish doesn't seem like it'll work well in singles, since Behavian's defenses aren't very strong. Behavian-Reinforce is specialized for supporting a doubles partner, so it'll probably be quite good there but borderline useless in singles.
Metranda gives Damp Molra a use case.
As for status conditions... Toxa getting bonus damage against poisoned foes makes all of the offensive Toxa mons much scarier if supported well (and also keeps Ventawurm in check somewhat), Inflammation is absolutely crippling given how many dangerous speedy physical attackers there are (and even on special attackers, half speed is half speed), and Reactive should prove quite effective for wallbreaking.
If n0rtist sees this, note that I am not a super credible source who shouldn't be taken as authority (and also that Stema is my most anticipated creature collector project, and as a Gym Leader Ed subscriber, that statement has weight).
I drew a Soapple with someone holding angry eyebrows infront of it because I thought this would be super cute 0: I always enjoyed when people draw creatures as if they were real pets in an everyday senario. I have done this before with my snakes, so I figured it be fun.
I sadly got some of the colours off because I was using a different device then the one I was drawing on so I couldn't really colour pick the correct colours. I did my best though and I think I got some of them right. I also did my best to do it as a lineless drawing in the way I do lineless, as I admire the simple lineless style n0rtist does!
The Stema project is made, designed, and being developed by @n0rtist. I really like the designs made and wanted to do some fan art of a few of them. If you like creature collectors and you like STEM, please check it out! I highly recommend the video break downs on youtube as they discuss alot of fun topics there, but they also stream on twitch! 0: I haven't tagged someone on tumblr before, so hopfully I did that right and you can view the n0rtist tumblr page.
I've been following @n0rtist 's stema region ( https://www.youtube.com/@n0rtist ) for a while and I wanted to draw one of his designs. This is my rendition of Metamolder. I liked the way metamolder's head protuberance looks like a pirate hat and the pirate hat in itself looks like a boat so I drew Pequod, the noble ship of the not-so-noble pirate gang led by the unnamed fella waving his sword at nothing over there. I also added a Levestress and some Lagomights on the ship since N0rt had the intention of making them the bad guy mons.
