"Kisser" by Step Rockets
I don't know where I'm going, I don't know where to stay, I don't know where I'm going, we all disappear someday, I don't know where I'm going
Step Rockets -Phantom Flower
Step Rockets has been one of our favorite bands from Minnesota for many a year now. They’ve consistently regaled us with vivacious hooking alt rock anthems, each one as infectious as the last. This week, Step Rockets has unveiled a new one named Money. A few seconds in and it’s already obvious this one’s a jam. Snappy percussion, spirited vocals, and lively guitar make this synth inflected tune a dance ready sing along charmer. Money is rebellious and determined, and it’s the perfect song to sing to your boss if you’re planning to quit. Not saying you should, of course.
Step Rockets has dished out not one, not two, but three sumptuous new tunes today. The Minneapolis alt rock outfit is in the midst of unfurling songs off of their next EP, Never Die, from which we’ve already heard potent throbbing synthrock anthem Past Life last month. They exude much raw intensity on synth slick, drum clattering To My Grave, one of their three new releases. Also new today are psych tinged strutter Never Die and dreamy contemplative Limbo, both of which can be streamed below, too. We must have done something right. Karma must be on our side if we’ve been blessed with these fine new songs from our long time faves.

Have you ever wondered about re-incarnation, and what sort of life you used to lead if it existed? I have a feeling I must have loved music the last time I walked this earth, too, and I probably would have loved Step Rockets in that past life, too. The Minneapolis outfit brings those sentiments to life on their new single, Past Life, a vibrantly slick, potent throbbing synthrock anthem that we’re hoping heralds a whole new string of releases from the band. Past Life is available from iTunes, here.
