at the end of the step 2 moment “lemonade” cove, mc and derek write something into wet concrete. i’m not sure if anybody has already asked this, but i was wondering if it’s ever mentioned again?

The MC can choose to mention it when talking to Lee about that day.
There's a brief mention during some narration in Cove's version of Hang while the gang is walking along and eating/sharing their crepes; they happen to pass by it.
It's brought up in Derek's Step 4, as is typical of the alternate LIs' DLC. Derek and the MC specifically go visit it.

It's Long Day where Cove can call the MC "pretty." The MC has to choose "hibiscus" as their favorite flower and be at Fond/Crush with Cove.
I was replaying the game and I got a scene in summerwork I’d never gotten before, where Cove said that his work was mine and offered to give me his completed work and hghfghl?!!! I love himmm that’s so sweet. But anyway, I was wondering what the requirements for that scene are cause I’ve never seen it before. I’m assuming MC both has to care about grades and be upset about loosing their work, but do they also have to be at crush with him? Are there any other requirements or am I wrong?Thank you very much!
That's one of my favorite Cove scenes so I relate for sure, it's adorable.
You've almost got the requirements down because yes, the MC needs to be stressed out, but caring about grades doesn't matter and they can be at Crush or Fond with Cove.
To mark the MC as "stressed," then when they first note that their work could've fallen out of their backpack, any of these options will do:
You started to panic!
Your stress level shot up.
You felt paralyzed.
When Noelani asks if everything's fine, choosing this option also works:
You answered her with a raised voice.
Then this one when Pamela comes back to say that the librarians don't have their papers:
You groaned in frustration.
The last chance is when Cove is rooting through his own backpack, to which you should avoid this option (only appears if your MC is already stressed):
You were actually calming down now.
If you haven't chosen any stress-related options by then, this option will be there and will get you the scene instead:

Now for my question, I noticed in the artbook that Cove in Birthday could wear either the headband or the crown when asked to wear by MC, but I never got the chance to see Cove wear the crown, so I was wondering if there was any way of influencing Cove to wear the crown, or is it completely random?

It's not random! Cove will pick the party headwear that suits his hair.
Cove with the middle-parted hair will go with the headband, but Cove with the floofy hair will go with the crown.
So you've inadvertently outed yourself to everyone here what your Step 2 Cove's hairstyle is. ;P
If you decide you didn't have fun during Road Trip, does that have any effect on him taking you back to the forest during Drive?
And also, is it possible to share the loft on Fond or do you have to be on Crush? (And in Drive, can you share the bed? I imagine not, but I think our boy deserves his cuddles hsjsbs)
Cove will still take the MC to the forest in Drive even if they didn't have fun back in Road Trip, though there will be an additional line of dialog: "I know you didn't have a super good time then, but... I thought maybe you'd be able to enjoy the park now."
You do not have to be on Crush for Cove to stay in the loft with the MC in Road Trip; if anything, he's more comfortable/casual about it since there's no romantic tension.
In Drive, Cove outright won't even try to share the bed on Fond and a Cove on Crush/Love will always be too anxious to stay in the bed overnight; that's for the Step 3 ending to deal with.
Got an anonymous request for Lee's reaction in a hypothetical where the MC could tell Lee that they were crushing on the "mystery boy" (Baxter) from Soiree, so of course I was 👀👀👀

You know how at the end of step 2, Cove "copies" you by mimicking something you've apparently been doing?
Normally for me he shrugs exxageratedly, but I got him to shake his head strongly this time.
How many options does he have for that, and what causes them?
There are three, and it's based on how much your MC has shrugged, nodded, or neither over the course of Step 1 and 2!
If the MC has shrugged more than twice throughout the playthrough, Cove will give an exaggerated shrug. If the MC hasn't but has nodded more than twice instead, he'll shake his head strongly. If neither happened, he will stare at the MC unblinkingly.
So how much they've shrugged takes priority over nodding while Cove staring unblinkingly is the default for not meeting either count.
