Stephanie Murphy
The cancel culture continues
With [Rep. Stephanie Murphy's] bloody fingerprints on the knife in the back of Build Back Better, cushy no-show corporate “consulting” jobs will be hers for the taking.
Ryan Cooper in The American Prospect
Just called my elected officials to beg them to oppose ICE and our government’s concentration camps
What a wildly dispiriting experience that was
Apparently neither Senator Rick Scott nor Senator Marco Rubio have enough staff to answer a phone
(Aren’t these guys supposed to be job creators??)
Instead I begged two voicemail machines to Close the Camps
To their credit, I suspect the voicemail machines are just as appalled by our government's concentration camps as Rick Scott and Marco Rubio are
Even more disheartening was Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy
A pleasant staffer was eager to qualify that she didn’t know how the Congresswoman feels about our government’s concentration camps
Not embarrassed to qualify, mind you
Just eager
The leader of the Blue Dog Coalition — one of the most powerful groups in the party that’s supposed to be defending us from the rise of fascism — employs a pleasant staffer who promises to call me back if she ever finds out how the Congresswoman feels about our government’s concentration camps
Maybe someday we’ll get lucky, and the Democrats will decide that concentration camps don’t play well in the Midwest
Then they’ll come out with a bold new policy called "Concentration Camps for Some!!"
“Look, I don’t want **poor** immigrants to be illegally and inhumanely detained!!”
“I’m just saying that rich immigrants might possibly take advantage of a universal system!!”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi lost control of the House floor on Tuesday, withdrawing a bill from consideration before a vote.
