The black-haired woman didn't tell him first...but he realized soon they weren't too different. A nervous mess, afraid to kill...both of them.
Why does it have to be like this? Where were the old times? Where were their loved ones?..Right now..there was only them in this grim world. Alive...but hidden in the shadows like a flower who was longing for sunlight.
They were both longing...for peace. For love..for a change.
"I betrayed them...I'm a thief...I ran away...I left them alone..."
As much as Stephanie expected Zac to be shocked, he wasn't...he understood...he felt sympathy for her. A lot of that. He hated cowards...but sometimes there was no use. Sometimes you had to do such things...against all your morality. Sometimes you had to be the asshole, but someone on this world will understand...right?
"It's okay...I understand...Don't worry."
He did..he really understood Stephanie. Early on Zac realized it deep inside...she was hiding something. Clutching her knife all the time, jumping over every noise...she was on the run.Something was haunting her...someone was chasing her. What they didn't know was...that right now, only Stephanies fears were coming after her...her conscience.
All Zac wanted to do was...bring her mind to rest..remind her of the things that matter to her...Shel and Becca.
"Your friends are waiting for you...we will find them, don't worry."
That's what he said all the time. He just wanted to give her mind a break. She was tired...she was worn out..that's not what a beautiful lady deserved.
Stephanie just smiled at him. Still worried that he was afraid of her now...but he wasn't.
He trusted her.
Stephanie wasn't bad...she was a sister. She was nice and beautiful.
A flower that hasn't lost her petals through the storm on the outside. But a flower who almost starved for water, for sun. For friendship, for love.
He liked her...very much. Like a sister.
