Barbara Windsor and James Booth in "Sparrows Can't Sing" from 1963, directed by the redoubtable Joan Littlewood from a script by Stephen 'Blakey from On The Buses' Lewis
It was the first English language film to be released in the United States with subtitles
Windsor would go on to appear in the Carry On films and Eastenders, amongst other credits, as well as being made a Dame Booth appeared on TV and in films in both the UK and the US, and played Ernie Niles in the 'Twin Peaks' TV series.
Other alumni from Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop and "Sparrows Can't Sing" specifically include Brian Murphy and Yootha Joyce ("George & Mildred"); Stephen Lewis and Bob Grant ("On The Buses"); Roy (father of Rory) Kinnear; Harry H. Corbett (son of Steptoe); the magnificent Murray Melvin ("The Devils"; "A Taste of Honey") as well as many other familiar if craggy faces from British TV and film of the 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond

Bugs Bunny turns the tables on Yosemite Sam (General Pandemonium) in this scene from “Carrotblanca” 1995 directed by Doug McCarthy. I animated a couple of long scenes where Bugs does a quick change into several different characters in order to keep Sam off balance. Bugs is pictured here, as a cigar chomping cop in the interrogation room.

RIP Georgina Hale who died on 4 January this year. British actress with a long list of credits but if you've never watched it seek out the One Foot in the Grave episode "Love and Death" (which also guest stars Stephen Lewis from On the Buses). Alright My Love!
