Stephen Williamson, who succeeded Stanley Drucker as the Philharmonic's Principal Clarinet, was a featured soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra when John Williams recorded his Oscar-nominated score for Steven Spielberg’s "Lincoln." We're thrilled that Stephen Williamson will join the Philharmonic as our Principal Clarinet starting this fall. You can already check out his mellifluous sounds when you see Lincoln — he can be heard on its sound track. Stephen returns to New York (after being The Metropolitan Opera's principal clarinet from 2003 to 2011) from serving as  the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's principal clarinet.

Well, today was the day where thousands of classical musicians and I went to see Eugene Izotov, Dale Clevenger, and Stephen Williamson with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia Park.
