What is the origin of Mahler Grooves? In the 1970s, the Mahler Society of Los Angeles produced bumper stickers emblazoned with the slogan MAHLER GROOVES. Former Music Director Leonard Bernstein got his hands on one and stuck it on the first page of his score of Mahler’s Symphony No. 6; that score now lives in the Philharmonic’s Archives! Today we honor the spirit of that bumper sticker with our day-long celebration, Mahler Grooves! Follow along on our social platforms and at nyphil.org/mahlerny to join the fun. #mahlerny #mahlergrooves https://www.instagram.com/p/B_U9YoxjVzA/?igshid=11xm6mq8qnzzi
