Review of The Outsider by Stephen King Holy shit. It's been a hot second since I've read a book this difficult to put down. The plot was incredible and compelling, combining the horrors of humanity with the supernatural. It kept me on the edge of me seat the entire time. Just when I thought that I had the villain figured out, there was another layer to dig into. There's a quote from King "...if I find that I cannot terrify, I will try to horrify, and if I find that I cannot horrify, I'll go for the gross-out." Well, he managed to do all three in The Outsider. The characters were thoroughly developed and well-rounded. This is especially impressive considering how late in the game some of them are brought in. Some of the best one liners I've come across in a long time are amongst the pages. There's a burn against Kubrick, snarky comebacks, and deadpan remarks that got a good laugh out of me.
