STEREOLAB | Cobra and phases group play voltage in the milky light
9/13/25.
Stereolab (London, UK) aren't a band that really need any blog boosts, but this 7" is so good, and is getting close to being sold out that I thought it deserved a post - mostly because "Fed Up With Your Job" is just so good.
There are examples of bands who have stayed this consistently good for nearly 40 years - Yo La Tengo, The Divine Comedy, The Bats, and BMX Bandits all came immediately to mind, so it's not like Stereolab are an outlier. That doesn't mean it's not amazing and shouldn't be celebrated.
These two songs were recorded during the "Instant Holograms On Metal Film" sessions. This is released on Warp Records, although it would sound perfect on Born Bad Records!
