Vasity Club member Mike Rotunda defended the NWA World Television Championship against Rick Steiner.

During the match, Rotunda's manager Kevin Sullivan was placed in a cage which was raised above the ring to prevent interference.

In the end, after Sullivan was released from the cage due to confusion caused by Steve Williams ringing the bell and making the referee and Steiner think the match was over, Rick Steiner prevented interference from Sullivan and defeated Mike Rotunda to win the NWA World Television Championship for the first time.
