"The King of Cool!" - That's how Steve McQueen was called. He was not only a heartthrob and idol of youth, but also one of the most formative actors of his time. In reality, however, he would probably have preferred to become a racing driver. So, in 1971 he realized his personal dream with the movie "Le Mans", but the production was under no good star and didn't only push the psychologically stricken leading actor to his personal limits. Nevertheless Le Mans became a success. Its completion is probably also due to McQueen's personal attitude: "I'm from the gutter and I don't compromise" - With these strong words the documentary "Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans" now begins. It was directed by Gabriel Clarke and John McKenna. With a wealth of previously unseen footage, the film allows a look behind the scenes of McQueen's ultimate racing film. The two directors went to great lengths to find previously unreleased footage from private family property, super eight films of racing driver Paul Blancpain and Le Mans outtakes. We think, a film not to be missed! #LeMans #SteveMcQeen https://www.instagram.com/p/B83gJGOITy4/?igshid=15n5d4obgvtnd
