Okay after watching the finale last night I'm starting to think that Eddie might be the person Steve wants to take over the whole movement????? Like is anyone else getting that vibe??????

Speculation time

So, according to Wikipedia, the last episode is titled 

“The Miracle”.

 I know that it’s too soon to speculate about it, too much infos we don’t have yet but anyway...

Bill in episode 1x04 , talking about Meyer and his condition, said “there will be a miracle”  referring to the possibility for the Leader to heal so ...what if The Miracle in question is in fact Meyer waking up?

They did show us at the end of ep 1x02 his eye “twitching” while Cal was talking to him ( it’s normal in his condition.. I think ?.. still...) it could be a sign that - against all the odds - he’s going to get better?

Him waking up would open different possible scenarios:

1) he’s going to stick around and be the main “antagonist” in a possible second season. 

It would be interesting to see how he actually is like as a Leader and Cal dealing with this “good news” ( after having tasted power it’s going to be difficult to go back being “just a follower”). 

2) He’s going to die anyway and his “temporary” recovering presented as a "resurrection" before he ascended to the Light or whatever ( something like Jesus Christ ). His death could be ..

an accident - Cal having one of his “outbursts” but this time doesn’t manage to stop himself in time..

something premeditated 

.. after Meyer expresses his dislike for his ideas about the future of the Movement/doesn’t think he’s fit to be a Leader.

Something like that, killing a man he considers a father, could push Cal further into the darkness and make for an interesting arc for his character since this secret would gnaw at him.
