C O N T from @stevenjackmcgarrett (X)
Steve heard the exchange of gun shots and immediately took off running in that direction. Out of reflex he pulled his gun from it’s holster and held it at the ready, just in case. Though it was past sunset, the street was not nearly as busy as during the day. Tourist season was year round in Hawaii after all. Still it seemed that the tourists were too busy looking for souvenirs or bars to bother with a few gun shots. People never ceased to amaze him.
As he reached the mouth of the alley, he saw a man struggling to get to the street. Quickly scanning the area for the other shooter, Steve saw the body several feet away. Bullet through the head, clearly dead and no longer a threat. Kneeling next to the man, he barely heard the strained ‘hello’.
“Five -O.” He announced himself, though he had a gut feeling this guy was the victim and not the perpetrator. “I’m going to turn you over.” He placed his hand on the man’s shoulder.
Footsteps. A voice. Relief - at least, he hoped so and hoped that it wasn’t another shooter coming to finish the job. Benji awkwardly lifted his chin from the ground, seeing a tall man rushing along the alley and dropping down alongside him. Ok, that was enough to say that he wasn’t about to end him, allowing Benji to release some of the tension in his body.
Five-O... Thank goodness, at least it was someone from authorities who would know what to do. As he felt the hand on his shoulder, Benji allowed the man to turn him over, resting on his back as he took in a deep breath.
“IMF.” he replied, patting his jacket with the hand which wasn’t putting pressure on his wound. “ID in here if you want it. Don’t think there was any more arseholes but might... might be good to check.” No use this guy getting himself shot too, then they’d both be screwed.
