Super Short Reviews: Fall TV part 3
Ghost Wars (SyFy) -- The title may lead you to believe there will be ghosts at war. Sadly... instead this show is about some super pissed off ghosts causing a lot of trouble for some humans. Why are the ghosts so pissed off? I’ll never know.
Valor (CW) -- I’m watching this show. Is it because a friend of mine is on it? Is it because it’s fun to watch a military show based around a female character? Is it because Matt Barr and his Texas dialect are so incredibly hot? Don’t analyze it too much - just enjoy.
Dynasty (CW) -- I made the mistake of thinking this show would be like the Dallas reboot - a continuation of the story with a new generation. Instead, its a... well... a... i don’t know. A retelling? Maybe. I was laughing too hard to stick around to find out. BUT !!! If you LIKE shows that contain ridiculous drama bits that make you laugh - you will love this.
Hit the Road (Audience) -- ugh. I don’t like raunchy humour. As in bits / dialogue that make you CRINGE. Here’s hoping that Tim Johnson Jr. (the only enjoyable part of this show) finds better work.
The Jellies (Adult Swim) -- as the name of the network suggests, it’s adult animated humour. And by “adult” i mean 18-30 year old potheads. Are they still called potheads? What word do the millennials use?
Loudermilk (Audience) -- Poor Ron Livingston - always doomed to play such miserable characters... but its FUNNY!!!!!!!! Funny funny funny. Also if you missed Almost There (Audience) with Steven Pasquale, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Susan Kelechi Watson, definitely check that out too.
At Home With Amy Sedaris (TruTv) -- This is such a HILARIOUS premise. But you know that old adage: louder, faster, funnier = comic gold? Wish this show would have followed those guidelines,
Superstition (SyFy) -- Good story. Good characters. Good actors. Bad show. How does it happen??
S.W.A.T. (CBS) -- oooooooooooooo guns. Guns, guns, guns, and Jay Harrington.
Hot Date (Pop) -- 2 main actors playing lots of different characters. Probably funny... But what’s Pop? And how is it 2017 and your shows are not in HD? I can’t watch.
Damnation (USA) -- Talk about a slow burn. But trust me, if you have the patience, the last 5 minutes of the first episode will get you hooked for the season.
