I'm reading part of Gruenwald's run, you know, the part where Steve gives up being Captain America AGAIN, and they have pretty detailed timestamps of what happens throughout the day. But they skip between 6pm and 6am, when Steve finally gives up the shield.
And it's all very touching and sweet.... But I'm pretty sure Steve spent that twelve hour gap fucking the shield one last time. Because his true love has, and always will be, his shield.
So here ya go, government. You can have it back now. I'm pretty sure he cleaned off all the spunk, because hygiene and sex are important.
