For the 2025 challenge (a year late) from @creatingblackcharacters. Static is one of my very favorite DC heroes, who remains critically fucking underrated for how important he is. Static Shock was vital to me growing up, having stories inseparable from blackness and being able to relate for a change. It has all the hallmarks of its other DCAU contemporaries: The ability to tell mature stories across all audiences, top-notch character designs, and some genuinely interesting lore on how Virgil and the other Bang Babies GOT their powers to begin with. It’s insanely fucking racist that the show isn’t available anywhere (during black history month?!). Everybody go pirate that shit right NEOWWWWWWW!!!!! You will not regret it.
