Jonathan Fire Eater - Wolf Songs For Lambs (1997). ......... R.I.P. Stewart Lupton (March 29, 1975 - May 27, 2018). I didn’t even know about his death until today from a small article on the web. It’s just so sad not many seem to care about his death at a such young age of 43. Considering the fact that his band Jonathan Fire Eater was very pivotal in the rise of NY indie music scene of 2000’s. Without their lead there would be no Interpol, The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, TVOTR, YYY’s and of course The Walkmen who were original members of Jonathan Fire Eater. Back then I just regarded them as that hyped indie band from NYC. Then last year I read the book Meet Me in The Bathroom detailing the rise of NY indie music scene in the 00’s. This band and Stewart Lupton had a huge influence and played a major role in shaping that distinctive indie music scene of NYC. If you haven’t read the book yet I strongly recommend it. As for the music this is really good and it’s a shame not many have heard it before. I only have it on CD since there’s no vinyl ever released( I think). Hopefully there will be a vinyl release soon if they could receive the attention and recognition with Lupton’s death( although it’s so sad to think something like this will spark an interest). #jonathanfireeater #stewartlupton #thewalkmen #meetmeinthebathroom #newyorkmusic #indierock #rip #wolfsongsforlambs
