Day 11. Andermatt - Cadenazzo 109.4 km. The Alps passed! Day started with a 15 km / 640 vertical meter climb from Andermatt to the peak of St. Gotthard pass at 2,106 m. Followed by a steep descent to Airolo mostly on cobblestone hairpins. Basically it was a 80 km downhill all the way to Bellinzona. We planned to ride to Lugano but were stopped by a thunderstorm. After riding an hour on a heavy rain on not so quiet road we decided to turn back to Cadenazzo and take a train to Como. https://www.strava.com/activities/1055745884

The way down was tought. Even colder than getting up. Steep gobblestone road, bad visibility, dangerous and narrow road. The weather got worse after we got down.
