Tails gets a moment in the sun! Pretty awesome of him to make a comeback after being humiliated by Honey last issue. Metal Sonic gets so mad that Skelly draws him with his scary red eyes accurately for the first time.

Plus, I still love Sonic being a cool big brother figure to Tails. And I like how he pops up out of the hole, like “Huh, that’s way cool!”.

Oh snap, remember splash pages?? The old comics did them all the time and this one really beats em all. Love seeing the entire cast react to the Sonic and Knuckles showdown, Antoine betting against his friend, Chip not even noticing Sonic yet, Eggman just sitting with his resting troll face, and also Princess Undina making an early cameo!

“Rocket Metal” doesn’t appear in the Sonic the Fighters adaptation outright, but they do make fun of his big head in the gag panel. xD

As much as I enjoy seeing Sonic and Knuckles be fierce rivals like in the old days, I think its just as awesome seeing them have a friendly battle whilst reminiscing on their past encounters. It really shows that they’ve come a long way, and Skelly’s expressions are equally stoic as they are slightly goofy, but not too much!

I like how she draws Sonic and Knuckles fighting, is what I’m saying.

Metal Sonic is here to take the Chaos Emerald, just barely preventing Nack from taking a shot at the heroes. Huh, to this day I’m not quite certain why exactly she allows Metal Sonic to take the emerald with no security, except to not have any of the heroes take it. I guess she likes Metal just that much?

Man, Chip met Sonic waay later in this adaptation. How long the comic focuses on their relationship after this...we will have to see. Unlike the game, I don’t remember the two having any fun moments together, but we’ll get there when we get there. Love Knuckles’ Sonic 3-esque chuckle though!

I know later I’ll not have good things to say about it, but I do appreciate Gabriel Cassata’s colouring! It can be flat at times but the shading really works, even if its quality depends mostly on how good the artist is. Like it or not, his colouring is the most consistent visual identity of the post-reboot comics. xP

Breezie is the kind of villain that would profit from the world breaking into pieces, but mostly from behind her business so nobody suspects anything. Very much like how Mammoth Mogul operated pre-reboot. A shame we never got to see more of her before the comics ended.

Also I just noticed the pictures in her room are mostly just Badniks replicating famous paintings, like the one of Prometheus being dissected by an eagle. xD
