Often the employers don’t even ask, if that’s any comfort. They just like to know you have people to list. I’ve been a ref at least 4 times for my students; never got contacted.

so we’ll do some backstory. 

She is purchasing Monaari blossoms when he sees her, first.

The third moon is rising, and the streets are cast in a brilliant light that sends the dust whirling into sparkling clouds beneath the trees and their heavy branches laden with blossoms. It is the Festival of Shapes, and all of Tarnax is alive in the streets. 

His lungs are full of the perfume of her, even from across the byway.  

None of what follows is real to him, not for years, though he will re-live it a thousand times, he will think of her and smell her perfume, he will think of her and see the brilliance of her and the sharpness of her laugh and the distant softness that still lives in her eyes. 

“Soldier,” she says, and that is his designation. Soldier.

She sees him looking, and the world stops.

Short hair looks so amazing & chic; I loved my hair when it was short (like boy-short, buzzcut & then all lengths in between till now, when it's sort of waist-length) and yes, it's for you, not for men. I'm sure you look fantastic!

You have to get into that basement before you graduate. "It's a moral imperative," to quote my favourite '80s movie. Seriously, go for it. I have fond memories of exploring locked basements at my high school my last year there.

I don't think there's any harm in enjoying it for at least a day! like okay maybe don't take a road trip but you could totally play piano or make something out of a broken something
