I Tumblr-googled androgyne and read your fashion-focused gender expression post. I appreciated it. A few thoughts about queering skirts/dresses as an androgyne: "Men's skirts" are on the rise (Marc Jacobs/Kanye/South Korea) - there's a beacon for skirt equality. This is more future-tense, but I want to design dresses that are not marketed toward specific gender and could flatter a variety of body-types. In binary/sexist society expansion of fashion is one good option for expression on our terms.
Tumblr didn’t alert me to this message, so I’m sorry if you sent this awhile ago! I’ve seen the rise of men’s skirts, and I’m really excited for it. I really do think that it’s something that all genders can appreciate and rock. Having more well-known figures and brands demonstrate the ability to wear skirts and dresses regardless of gender is vital, and is what will hopefully help open more people’s minds to the possibility. And I’m rooting for you and what you want to do in the future! Having a line that could work for all body types and genders would be so wonderful, and it’s really needed right now. Good luck! :)
