Even though some feminist circles seem to be more accepting of trans women, I don't trust it unless they're accepting of all kinds of trans people. If you're accepted only because you're the gender they view as 'morally correct' you can bet they're going to scrutinize every little thing you do to make sure you're acceptably feminine, to make sure you're really 'woman enough' to be counted. Being toted around as a 'feminist win' because 'yippee another man became a woman- he - sorry she is such a feminist!' is not acceptance.

hey fam believing that men can only ever possibly be benefited by systemic misogyny and the patriarchy and never harmed by it only further enforces systemic misogyny and upholds patriarchal ideas and ignoring the ways in which marginalized men are far less benefited by systemic misogyny and are far more frequently and often more violently harmed by it instead ignores the ways in which by the nature of systemic misogyny being an intersectional form of systemic oppression is fundamentally inextricable from systemic racism transphobia homophobia imperialism and more

in short if you believe men are never harmed by the patriarchy and that it can only give men upward social growth forever then you have bought into one of the most insidious false promises for men the patriarchy sells

and if you believe trans men are not especially and uniquely harmed by the patriarchy as a marginalized class of men then you are ignoring the ways in which a trans man being trans is inextricably tied to the ways in which he is treated across gendered lines

also if you think questions like this are in any form a quick political barometer for whether or not someone is problematic tm or not then you are not critically engaging in these discussions in good faith
