48,000 Academic Workers at UC voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike, which will begin on November 14th if the circumstances require.

48,000 Academic Workers -- Academic Student Employees, Academic Researchers, Postdoctoral Scholars, and Student Researchers -- are negotiating new contracts with the University of California. Instead of negotiating in good faith to reach agreement on key issues, the university has engaged in a wide variety of unlawful conduct. It all started because of the birds.

When Stan found out that Mike was terrified of birds, he couldn’t sit idly by.

It was inconceivable to Stan that someone could not appreciate the beauty and complexity of his favorite animal.

So he tries to convince Mike to go bird-watching with him.

Mike gave him a little smile and tried to disregard the idea politely.

But Stan didn’t let it go until he convinced Mike to try it at least once.

So Stan went to pick Mike up at his house, with a bird-watching book in hand, two binoculars in his backpack, and a lunch ready to go to the park together.

Mike saw Stan standing there perfectly straight and ready for their day together,   though for the first time that Stan was very handsome.

When they arrived at the park, the morning was chilly and peaceful, so they could hear the birds singing.

Stan smiled as he listened to the birds and felt the chilly wind and sun on his face, it was a perfect day to show Mike how wonderful the birds were.

 It wasn't that Mike didn't appreciate the beautiful song of the birds, but knowing how close he was going to be to them turned his stomach.

Mike was trembling with nerves, it wasn't that Mike didn't appreciate the beautiful day or Stan's company, but knowing how close the birds would be to him made his stomach turn. 

Stan took Mike's hand and gave him a reassuring smile trying to make him feel better. 

Without letting go of each other's hands they sat on the bench so they could see the birds. 

Every time a bird came to the birdbath, Stan excitedly explained the characteristics of the bird.

Mike, despite his fear of birds, spent a good day listening to Stan and reading the bird-watching book.

Everything was perfect until a bird got too close to them.

And Mike panicked.

As Stan watched Mike run of the little bird in front of the bench, he couldn't help but fell in love. 

When Stan reached Mike, Mike began to apologize for running away but Stan interrupted him, took Mike's face in his hands and looked at him with love ,and assured him that there was no problem before kissing him.
