hypothetical question - if person A liked person B for a very long time but person B was only interested in being person A's friend and made that clear by showing interest in person C, and person C and person A were friends, would it make person C a bad person for returning person B's interest in them?

I think if Person C liked Person B a lot they should sit their friend down and explain the situation to them. I mean it would probably sting a LOT, but I think if they’re good friends they’d probably understand
