there was an unspeakable rage that bubbled beneath the surface, in a terrifying concoction as it mixed freely with the confusion that sydney was feeling, especially when it came to stiles stilinski. someone she had considered the ENEMY for months upon months. he had been there to pick her up from the crumbling mess of control that she had become when theo was absent, or was torturing her for making so many mistakes that he just wasn’t happy with. ( truth be told, was theo ever happy? probably not. ) she saw stiles as much more than the picture her alpha had painted of him, in fact, she felt like she could confide in him no matter when, because he’d always be happy to listen and that was a feeling she hadn’t ever had. of course, theo had been there, but had he ever truly listened? stiles meant so much more than just a fuck when she was feeling down in the dumps. he had become so much more than she had ever truly anticipated and really? it scared the life out of her. she felt wanted, which was a strange feeling especially when that was something she had never experienced. theo never really wanted her the way she wanted him, and her parents would turn back time to her birth if they could just to get RID of her. sydney collins was always the unwanted one. so to suddenly have that feeling? it was glorious, and all around frightening at the same time. which was why when he uttered those words, her initial reaction was to go on the defense, claws at the ready. ( figuratively of course. ) golden tresses fell covering her face as she let bold cerulean hues scan to her hands, which fiddled widely as a distraction technique to keep her mind from flying off the handle, and to possibly buy her some time to figure out a reply that would even justify how she felt inside. eventually she let everything in her brain fall where it may, delving through the muddled mess to somehow answer him. the blue met the caramel, and she could feel herself want to melt inside. like she had so many times before. but just as the smile was about to lift at her lips, she closed off. in a matter of s e c o n d s. oh the beauty of being a professional of becoming a cold hard bitch. theo was the reason she knew how to hide it so well, how she could become someone who didn’t even resemble her, how she could lose any emotion within a blink of an eye. at first she felt her mouth become completely dry, as if hindering any chance of speech, or of her completely fucking things up which was a normal case for the oldest collins girl. and then when she forced the words out, there was no going back. “ why didn’t you leave then? everyone always does, i’m used to it now. ” and with that tears clouded her vision, and sydney collins facade broke.
