Praktica MTL 50
The last ever thekidisfireworks show. A proper send off for an awesome band. Going to miss seeing these guys play.
Not really written on here about the first show I put on. It actually went really well. The bands were mostly unorganised and it stressed me out. Telling me everything was sorted then asking me to sort them equipment 1 hour after the doors opening - that shit ain't cool.
Other than all that though it went really well. I could afford a buttload of beers for the bands, gave away a few £1 entry tickets. All the bands bloody smashed it. Stillbust and Milk Teeth especially. 40 pre-sale tickets sold and another 50~ ish people through the door which is actually a really, really great turn out for 2pigs and cheltenham in general.
We had some kid strip down to his boxer shorts during our set and do backflips and shit. Another kid stole one of the microphones off stage and started shouting the words to our songs which is the coolest thing in the world. Not in a 'man our lyrics meant something to someone' way - because our songs aren't about anything - but someone took the time to learn the words to our stupid songs about poo and giving someone a swirly. We sprayed a bunch of DIY merch and sold the 1 tshirt we've ever made.
On top of all the cool people there and cool bands I also made a tidy £100. Money isn't everything, but I definitely wouldn't carry on doing this knowing I'd make a loss every time.
Thanks if you came to the show, if you didn't, you absolutely missed out. Music in Cheltenham is alive and kicking.
Here is the poster for my first show in July. Share it about, get in touch if you're in a band so I can accumulate contact details for local bands. Approach me at a show, come say hey and tell me about your band.
