not to be that fucking guy but do you ever feel lucky to have friends that are incredible? extraordinary? Wonderful? Amazing? Big props to @stillcominback / laurel for having a warm heart, a kind soul and being patient with me during my bad days. I'm grateful, blessed and I hope she knows how lucky I feel to know her and to talk to her.

It's a struggle to keep his eyes open thanks to whatever drug Enid had given him, though Aaron tries his hardest when he looks over towards Rick, a tired frown twitching at his lips. "...Last time I checked, I was the one that got myself into this situation. " he begins, finally giving up up trying to keep his eyes open and just letting them close. "--I could have said no to helping building the bridge, and I didn't because I wanted to help." Cracking one eye open, he meets Rick's gaze as best as he can and offers him a small smile. "Besides. I don't regret this. I don't regret moving him out of the way. That log would have killed him. "

          𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄’𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐇𝐈𝐌 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐀𝐍.  the only person she’d seen was daryl and that was only because he hunted her down.  to hear of what happened to glenn and to abraham had been the final straw for her.  she had to come back and she had to help them.  it hadn’t been as hard convincing ezekiel as she thought.  the kingdom along with hilltop had saved alexandria for now.  but there was still a long road ahead of them.  smile was almost bittersweet as she comes to face him, and the tears welled in her eyes before she could swallow that emotion down.  ❝ surprise. ❞

she hasn’t spoken to anyone all day,  finding it more comforting to isolate herself than to even try to open up to anyone else.  ever since losing bob,  her entire demeanor has changed.  the positive outlook that she had found when with him had vanished,  her bitter pessimism back in full force.  alexandria feels safe  -----   almost too safe,  because the people here seem HAPPY.  and that sort of genuine happiness is something sasha can’t grasp.  it’s naive,  and when she’s around it,  she only feels more claustrophobic.   there is safety her and while some may be thankful for it,  sasha is too logical of a person to believe that it’s that simple.

she’s sitting on the steps,  sharpening her knife because it’s easier to focus on something like this:  necessary tools of survival,  rather than finding comfort in clean sheets and a warm bed,  that all seems too easy to be ripped out from underneath of them.    she doesn’t look up when she sees his feet approaching,  only keeping her eyes ahead  (  too afraid that the vulnerability that’s all too present inside is going to reveal itself on her features if she does look up.  )  ❝  how long we plan on stayin’ here?  ❞  she mutters,  stopping her actions but not looking up just yet.  ❝  no one here knows what they’re doing.  ❞   and it’s not that she doesn’t think they can handle themselves physically.  it’s mentally,  because she has been out here trying to survive with this overwhelming grief,  and not even she is stable.  ❝  they all walk around like this is what freedom looks like.  ❞    but those smiling faces and the warmth that they all seem to have,  it only makes sasha angry.

     ❛  𝑾𝑯𝒀  𝑾𝑶𝑼𝑳𝑫  𝒀𝑶𝑼   𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑲  𝑺𝑼𝑪𝑯  𝑨  𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮 ?  ❜   hand  lifts  to  stroke  face,   there’s  a  small  smile  upon  her  features.  an  ache  in  heart,  for  him  to  think  such  a  thing.  ❛  i   love   you.  ❜  the  three  words  come  easier  than  imagined.  forehead  presses  against   his,  a  serene  moment  for  just  the  pair.  ❛   you  came  in’ta  my  life  and  changed  it  for  the  better.    ❜   they  both  share  scars  of  tragedy  &  loss,  learning  to  help  each  other  heal.  ❛    i  don’t  want  anyone  but  you.    ❜   her  heart  was  still  mending,  trying  to  piece  back  together,  but  if  there  was  anyone  it  would  be  tom.  her  feelings  had  blossomed  upon  each  trip  to  kingdom,  stolen  glances  and  any  chance  for  conversation.  there  were  silent  doubts  of  her  own,    he  deserved  someone  not  as   damaged.  but  it  was  in  that  realization,  how  truly  they  belonged  together.  she  carried  her  fair  share  of  mistakes,  of  ghosts  that  haunted  her  past.  but   tom  had  accepted  her  in  her  entirety.  lips  press  against  his,  a  kiss  of  intensity   to  chase  his  doubtful  thoughts  far  from  mind  if  her  words  fail.  ❛  please  don’t   push  me   away.  ❜    emerald  hues  meet  his,  fingers  interlacing  to  reassure.  each  has  their  own  set  of  walls  built  high,  learning  to  let  the  other  in.

      bad,  is  an  understatement.  she’s  low  on  food,  water,  medicine  and  her  brother  --  her  brother  is  completely  unresponsive.  to  say  she’s  scared  would  be  woefully  short.  terror  has  flooded  her  body  as  she  tries  to  do  what  little  she  can.  maybe  he  got  sick  from  the  last  thing  he  ate.  how  long  ago  was  that  ??  she  tells  herself  he  eats  when  she  sleeps  but  she  can’t  be  sure.  all  she  knows  is  that  he’s  cool  to  the  touch  and  clammy  --  but  he’s  STILL  BREATHING.  still  alive.

there’s  one  chance  her  brother  has.  though  she  has to  admit,  it  scares  her.  going  out  there  alone,  with  just  herself  is  the  LAST  thing  she  wants.  though  she  tries  to  tell  herself  that  she’s  badass,  that  she  could  handle  anything  that  could  come  her  way.  not  to  mention  she’s  already  saved  his  life  once  --  she  fired  that  gun,  she  had  killed.  “  I’ll  be  back,  promise.  ”  i’m  going  to  get  help.  she  leaves  unsaid.  she’s  not  sure  if  he  can  hear  her  or  not  --  something  in  her  prays  he  can’t.  

taking  off  into  the  thick  expanse  of  woods,  her  eyes  and  ears  are  painfully  open.  leaves  rustle  and  she  sets  the  makeshift  barricade  against  her  brother’s  shelter.  not  his  tomb.  hands  fidget  as  she  palms  his  gun  she  brought.  she  takes  not  but  ten  steps  before  she  hears  the  explosion  of  another  gun.
