a pause, fingers hovering over a rapidly cooling plate. her gaze shifts to him, and, god, he’s hopeless. eric’s a sweet boy, but he’s absolutely USELESS when it comes to dating. it’s endearing. “just. . .ask him out. not that hard.”

18. is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others??

ambition first and foremost. intelligence is a key factor in capturing his interest, but those with the brains and no drive to do anything with it. . .escape his notice quickly, to say the least. he’s interested in people who want to DO SOMETHING and BE SOMETHING. he craves fire. of course, those wise enough to tread the path that will get them there the easiest are just as fascinating to him. he prefers a good mix of the two, especially in romantic partners. one without the other tends to lead to chaos.

19. what is your character’s biggest relationship flaw?? has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before??

yes. he has problems with LOYALTY and VULNERABILITY, which in turn can make him skittish with intimacy. the older he gets and the longer he’s known someone, he learns how to overcome these things, but let me clarify.

sebastian will never CHEAT on someone. if his interest strays, he’ll end the relationship before doing anything about it. what i mean about LOYALTY is that his adherence to promises he may have made can sometimes change at the drop of a dime if it so suits him. if it will benefit him to betray someone, he will. he’s a cutthroat person who doesn’t UNDERSTAND why he wouldn’t put himself first.

this has kept him from getting a lot of friends and long time lovers. however, with eric, it’s a bit different. maybe it’s because they spend so much time as FRIENDS and, no offense, but blackmailing or betraying ERIC of all people isn’t exactly something that comes up very often because most people don’t even know the kid exists. it’s partially because eric lays so low that sebastian realizes you can LIKE people and not have to think of ways you can potentially use them. plus, unlike most elites, eric isn’t an underhanded bitch.
