When posting longfics, is it a better idea to update tags only when that specific thing comes up, or just tag everything at the start? I'd really appreciate advice on how to avoid misleading people. Thanks for running such a great blog <3
I always recommend tagging up front, personally. If you’re planning on doing it the other way, then I recommend using the “additional tags to be added later” tag - and also include an author’s note at the top of the relevant chapter telling people to look at the tags again.
The reason I say to tell people up front is because, if you know something is coming, it’s nice to let your readers know. You don’t want people to get invested in your story and then have to drop it later. This works best if you’ve written the story completely (or almost entirely) before you start posting it.
That said, if you’re still in the process of writing the fic while you post it, adding tags as you go can be helpful. That way you don’t run the risk of changing an element of your story and then removing a tag, thus disappointing readers who were looking forward to it.

Ah yeah that picture was referencing Mari Lwyd the Welsh horse-skull character, who does look quite a lot like Elias!
I am still a fan of tamb but I guess there’s not as much stuff around since Season 2 of the anime finished, and I haven’t felt inspired to write anything for it lately. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- me last week. Another gem from Keenan. Hang in there everyone I'm going grocery shopping tonight...I think.
