Fall of Eregion stimboard for an anon (with flames, rings, forging, dead grass, and abandoned/crumbling buildings)

I hope this is OK! 

I wanted to kind of tell a story where the first three gifs show things that relate to the  leading up to the fall (rings, forging), the middle three show the destruction and the final three show the ruins and a possibility of rebirth as well as the history of what happened being recorded

Eregion is Sindarin and means Land of Holly. It was also known as Hollin which is what it was called in The Fellowship of The Ring.

Finrod inspired stimboard

Finrod was a musician, traveler, an explorer, a discoverer of new peoples, and a writer.

He was like an elven anthropologist!

The burying of Finrod’s body was said to cause the lands he had founded to restore to their natural beauty, hence the nature-y, wandery themes.

The Watcher in the Water (and other aquatic monsters of Arda)

The Watcher in the water lurked near the entrance to the Mines of Moria. It is a mysterious creature who’s species, origin, or history is never specified. The Silmarillion states that all of Morgoth's servants hated the water and wouldn’t even approach the sea unless necessary. We can only guess how many other creatures still roam these lands and waters

addition to this: I always imagined Angband as having a complex system of tunnels far underneath the fortress and this likely included underwater caves

it’s possible that this could have been far enough out of the reach of Ulmo for dark creatures to remain, even if they weren’t created by Morgoth himself, they might have remained underneath the fortress and in the surrounding lands (and occasionally used to feed elves to and other horrific things like in my story)

this post here has some more of my monster headcanons! but this is a topic that is super exciting and happy making to me so I’m probably missing some and I will also continue to talk about it!

Estë stimboard for an anon

Estë (Quenyan: “rest”) is the wife of Irmo, was one of the Valar. She was responsible for treating the injured, weary, and traumatized. 

Her fountains had many healing properties

She rests during the day on an island on a lake in the gardens of Lórien.
