I happened upon this gentleman today on a walk at Stinchcombe Hill. As well as sharing this lovely view we discussed the Battle of Nibley, as you do, that took place in 1469 at Nibley Green at the foot of this hill. I learnt that it was the last battle in England fought between two private feudal armies, headed by Viscount Lisle on the one side and the Baron of Berkeley on the other.
