I feel like Clyde tried to call it that, but the idea was rejected rather firmly by everyone else lmao

Cameron Mackintosh did say on BBC One Show earlier in the year (Christmas-time I think it was) that he was trying to get it back to London by this Christmas and if not next Christmas.

Other types of quartz include amethysts, jaspers and onyxs. Does the continuing line “You must’ve been made here”, plus Amethyst being a type of quartz, mean that Japser could’ve potentially come from Earth too?

yeah, ive seen that theory around!! i think the general consensus is that each kindergarten is suited to producing certain kinds of gems, and earths specialised in forms of quartz. 

theres also the whole thing where amethyst, jasper, and the one giant gem rose was seen fighting in sworn to the sword all have similar body types and hairstyles, amethyst and jasper both use a spin attack, and jasper and the unnamed gem both have a visor/helmet, so its probably safe to assume earths kindergarten was involved in producing warrior gems of the quartz variety - although amethyst, of course, was produced a considerable time later. i cant remember if jasper explicitly mentions fighting on earth, but she talks abt rose as if she either met her in battle or was involved enough in the war to be familiar with her tactics, so i think its likely that she was produced on earth, possibly even specifically to fight in that war (this might also explain why she was sent to escort peridot; she was familiar with earth).

where rose and steven fit in with this, though, im not sure; im convinced rose wasnt produced on earth and originated on homeworld, but it might be that, if she was one of the diamonds, she was assigned to earth specifically because of its affinity with quartz (or even the kindergarten was put to work producing quartzes as a way of honouring her)??? hm
