Love Your Mother

I chose to make an art quilt representing our Earth. Hand marbled and cotton fabrics for the top and backing.Two blocks were assembled to represent our planet, sun and moon. I then sliced the blocks and rearranged them. Machine quilted and hand embroidered with leaves,flowers and trees.

My hope for our future is a happy life for all.We must save our planet by keeping the forests green and the oceans blue.

Ghosts of the Future

I created this piece during San Francisco's "Shelter in Place" mandate so my outlook for the next decade is quite dark. The subject of this piece was inspired by the many deaths due to Corona Virus, opioid overdoses, plus the dire outlook for climate change. I chose to depict San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Bridge for its significance as the point of entry to the "City of Gold", where people once came to fulfill their dreams, but also because of the bridge's notoriety as a place for suicides.
