Animated this little bird back in 2019! I fell in love with the hihi, also known as the stitchbird, when I visited New Zealand a few years ago. New Zealand is full of so many delightfully weird birds!!

Obviously Nikaidou will live forever. There has been zero foreshadowing otherwise, and the man he's modeled off is still playing shogi to this very day! :D

Look at him, he’s so nervous and excited about the tournament coming up. He can’t die! right?

Stitchbird! Plus a nice shot of the (horribly steep in places) track to the feeder. The camera does a bad job of showing how deep green and shady this place was.
