Hey, if you haven’t already read it then I definitely recommend reading the fanfic “Stitching Hearts” by Madelene on Fanfiction/net. (I had to put a slash because Tumblr wouldn’t have sent it if I put a dot.) It seems up your ally, and it is an overall wholesome fic although it does get sad at times.

I've read lots of fics from Mandelene and some are among my all-time favourites, she's a brilliant writer! She really has the characterization down and conveys it perfectly through dialogues and action, the writing itself is polished and so pleasant to read (it doesn't even feel like reading fanfiction!) and she often writes that kind of hurt/comfort I love, which is a plus as well. 😊
As for Stitching Hearts, however, I tried reading it but it actually wasn't my cup of tea... Nothing wrong with it per se, I could see it was a good fic, but it was a bit too focused on Arthur's and, especially, Alfred's angst while Matthew was pushed aside. This certainly isn't an objective flaw, rather, I'd say it's a pet peeve I have, but I prefer works focusing more on Matthew. I know, I'm unfairly picky – but that's how it is. 😅
Still, if people don't have the same strict preferences I do in terms of main characters, I'd absolutely recommend giving Stitching Hearts a try! You can find it here. 😊
