Someone in one of my groups said that she doesn't know why the owners of this home bought it, b/c they hated everything about it and did everything they could to change it. While I don't think that they changed everything, there are some decisions they made that aren't so hot. Take a look at it.

It's a 1973 brown stone "castle" in Oklahoma City, OK. 5bds, 4ba, 4,641sqft, reduced $18k to $492k (Zillow est. $474,200) Don't you just love the towers and turrets, though?

It's still got the grand entrance hall. I don't know what I'd put in that niche. Maybe a statue.

I can't find anything bad about the magnificent great room, except that it's got ceilings like my loft apt. and I'm freezing my butt off, right now.

Look at this wall. That's unusual. They put a corner cabinet there, and it looks like they left it.

Wonder if they left the pool table, too. Looks like there's a fur on top.

I think that for less than $500k, this is a steal.

This is the area behind the railing. Maybe it could be a little conservatory or art studio area?

Either the white cabinets are original or they've been painted. They're okay. The backsplash is too modern, though.

The powder room is pretty plain, but the sink is nice.

Not sure what this room is for, b/c it's got an open doorway. I thought it was the dining room, but it's hard to tell. It looks like they painted the closet wall white.

Coming down the hall, though, it's right outside the kitchen.

Up on the mezzanine. Look at the cabinet built into the side of the fireplace.

So, this would be a family/TV room up here.

Looking down at the great room. Definitely a fur on the pool table.

This is very nice, the primary bedroom.

There's even a fireplace in here. Looks like they painted the stone. Doesn't look bad, though, in the bathroom.

The kitchen has a wonderful vintage drainboard sink. And, carved wood above the island is lovely.

The counters are marble.

This wall of cabinets is fabulous, and look at the vintage commercial style fridge.

The ceiling in the primary bedroom is stunning.

There's shelving, so I guess you have to use a ladder to get up there. If you have a collection, and put it up there, you can lie in bed and admire it.

Since the house was built in the 20s, this is a perfectly preserved Art Deco bathroom.

The living room is decidedly rustic, but the walls are painted to resemble brown leather, which is unique. It also features a high pitched ceiling.

I didn't expect this little 2009 hobbity house in Keene, CA to be so big inside and so new, especially for the price. 2bds, 2ba, 849 sq ft, $380k.

Isn't this amazing? It looks so small from the outside. Very nice fireplace and love the sweeping staircase around the tower.

Entering the front door, the living room area is off to one side and the dining/kitchen area is on the other. That's some regal looking dining set.

I didn't realize that they were still installing those dated oak cabinets in 2009. I thought that they were much earlier than that. I like the round windows, though. Oh, look at the cute little teapot fixtures over the counter.

Bedroom 1 is on the main floor. Don't like that it has an outside door, though.

It has an ensuite and a hall w/an accordion door closet. Ooh, I wonder where they got that stand. That's the size of my makeup case.

Upstairs there's room for a sitting or small office area on the mezzanine.

The ensuite is a shower room.

Smaller room is used as a home office, but it could also be a nursery or child's bedroom.

This is lovely- a terrace that has doors from the bedroom and the home office.

The shape of the home is interesting. So, under the terrace, there's a patio accessible from the main floor bedroom and the kitchen.

Lovely rock garden with some cute statuary decor.

Cute little barn-like storage shed and what appears to be a greenhouse.

Plus, a large metal utility/garage building.

Isn't this a wonderful porch with a little sunroom and large bench. Love the stone arch.

What a good price for this 1890 pink quartz home in Sioux City, IA. 5bds, 4ba, 4,636 sq ft, $575k.

They decorated for Xmas and it looks so pretty. Beautiful foyer. Look at the wood- perfection.

The keeping room is so lovely. That fireplace is a beauty. Stained glass windows and gorgeous molding complete the look.

The sitting room is so beautiful, and I actually love the draperies. Lovely corner fireplace.

The 1889 Hull Castle, a stone Romanesque home in Fort Wayne, IN, is a "project house," b/c it's not finished. But, it's mostly finished, and move-in ready. It has some water damage on the 2nd level from a fire in August 2020 and there's an unfinished part of the 3rd level. 4bds, 3ba, 4,419 sq ft, $949,900.

The large entrance hall is completely refurbished and has a beautiful staircase with a bulit-in bench.

The current owners installed this gold ceiling. Not sure if I like it.

It looks like they may have framed this panel that was removed from somewhere in the house.

Look at the beautiful details under the stairs.

Original stained glass window and look at the gorgeous turned spindles.

The current owners like blue and re-faced the fireplace in blue tile.

The new owner can decorate. The rooms are good to go.

They re-did the sitting room in a basic way.

The dining room is too modern. It has pocket doors, that they left natural wood, but they painted all the other wood white. The inlaid flooring looks new.

It has a nice fireplace, but I'm not sure that I like the big mirror. I'm thinking that maybe they shouldn't have done any remodeling.

This is so cute. A sun room with floor to ceiling windows and they left the wood original. Look at how nice the natural wood door looks.

Unfortunately, the new owner will probably come in and finish the kitchen with modern cabinetry, etc., but I think it's perfect, so far.

They really modernized the back stairs. It needs some lovely wallpaper and paint. Again, they painted over the wood.

This is one of the bedrooms. The floor is fine and the wood is intact. I don't think it needs anything but some brighter decor.

The back porch is so pretty.

This is a beautiful terrace on the 3rd level. The 3rd level isn't finished, but the tower room is, so that's a big plus. I wish there was photo of it.

It looks like there's an apt. behind the garage. All the listing says is that there's a 2nd level.

The 3 car garage is in perfect condition.

The yard and gardens are very pretty and look at the nice fencing. This home doesn't need much more work and will be worth well over $1m. 9,147 sq ft lot

I love weird, unusual, what-was-the-architect-thinking houses, and this 1966 stone house in Sublette, KS not only has 3bds, 3ba, 2,736 sq ft, but it can be yours for $499k.

Two-story entrance hall with stone pillars, stone floor, ledges, wood paneling, plank ceilings, and carpeted stairs. The keyword here is "texture."

In true mid-century modern fashion, there's a conversation pit around a fireplace. However, all of the walls are stone, the windows are round, and the fireplace is unconventional in design.

The rest of the living room. I'm not understanding why there are doors and then one pillar away there's a large opening, that they've blocked with a table. The primary bedroom is also open, but has large sliding doors.

The living room and rounded bedroom have carpeted flooring.

The main bath has a long entrance lined with closets.

At the end of the closet hall there's a sunken tub with original tile. Look at the little tile mural in the wall, too.

Then here, there's a family room with a corner fireplace. Note the niches in the walls.

In the middle, there's a large area with a dramatic focal point. There's an opening and a fountain, so I would imagine that you can sit in there. Large light above- not sure if it's a skylight or a light fixture.

This view reminds me of a furniture showroom.

So, the kitchen is nice. It looks like it's open to a patio.

The cabinetry is lovely and there's plenty storage.

Going up the stairs, I like the railing.

The 2nd bedroom is up here and it's also got a wide opening. Both bedrooms seem to have very large sliding doors that close for privacy.

This must be used as a guest room b/c it has a luggage rack. Love that desk.

But check out the little guest house.

It has a large fireplace, bed, and room for a sitting area.

The bath is small, but it has a large closet.

Large private walled patio with a pergola is at the back of the house.
